Merit Use Application – Badminton Facility
Development application 2021.68 for site 533 Building F1, 361 Milperra Road, Bankstown Airport
Forge Venture Management Pty Ltd (on behalf of Sydney Metro Airports) has lodged the above development application with the Airport Lessee Company for minor alterations and a change of use of an existing warehouse to a Recreation Facility (Indoor Recreation Centre – Badminton Facility).
The development comprises the change of use of the existing warehouse and associated office building of approximately 2,475 square metres into a 24-hour Badminton Facility, comprising:
- Indoor badminton courts (14 courts in total)
- Reception/waiting area and pro shop
- Amenities/end of trip facilities and associated storage areas
- Ancillary sporting activities (first floor)
- On-site car parking for up to 41 car parking spaces.
The site of the proposed development is within the Commercial Zone as identified with the Bankstown Airport Master Plan 2019 (MP 2019). A preliminary assessment against the MP 2019 has assessed the proposed development as a Merit development within the Commercial Zone.
The development application will be on public exhibition for 10 business days, with the public consultation period ending at 5pm on Friday 15 April 2022
